Bone handle knives have a character that synthetic materials simply cannot match. This Damascus bowie carries that character in full — the blade is hand forged from layered Damascus steel with a wavy pattern that runs the full length, and the handle is fitted with genuine bone scales that feel warm and solid in the hand. A brass double crossguard sits between blade and handle, shaped in the classic bowie style with both forward and rear quillons. It ships with a brown leather sheath stitched by hand.

This is a fixed blade built for collectors and outdoorsmen who want something that looks as good as it performs.

About Damascus Steel

Damascus steel is made by forge-welding multiple layers of high and low carbon steel together, then folding and drawing them out repeatedly. The result is a blade with a distinctive flowing pattern on the surface — no two Damascus blades look exactly alike. Beyond the appearance, the layered construction gives the blade a combination of toughness and edge retention that single-steel blades rarely match.

Handmade Craftsmanship

Every knife is made entirely by hand. The Damascus billet is forged, shaped, and ground by a skilled bladesmith. The bone scales are fitted and pinned by hand. The brass crossguard is shaped and fitted individually. The leather sheath is cut and stitched by hand. From raw steel to finished piece, no machines do the work that matters.

Knife Care Instructions

  • Blade: Wipe dry after use. Apply a light coat of mineral oil or camellia oil. Damascus steel will develop a natural patina — this is normal and adds character.
  • Handle: Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Avoid prolonged soaking. Bone handles benefit from occasional conditioning with a small amount of mineral oil.
  • Sheath: Condition with leather balm or neatsfoot oil. Store knife in sheath when not in use.
  • Storage: Keep in a dry location away from moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the Damascus pattern real or printed?
A: The pattern is real — it is formed during the forging process by layering and folding steel. It cannot be replicated by printing or etching alone.

Q: Is the bone handle genuine?
A: Yes. The handle uses genuine bone scales — not synthetic or resin. Each piece has its own natural grain and color variation.

Q: Does it arrive sharp?
A: Yes. Every knife is hand sharpened before shipping and arrives ready to use.

Q: Will my knife look exactly like the photos?
A: The Damascus pattern and bone grain will vary slightly between pieces — each knife is unique. You will receive the exact knife shown in the listing photos.

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes, we ship worldwide. Delivery times and customs duties vary by destination country.
